Default make guild wars 2 addicting.(its not a world its a game)

ok well so many things i've read on the internet has lead me to create this thread. gw is fun but not everlasting addicting fun.
anet please make guild wars 2 addicting right now let me tell you what makes a game addicting.

1.the ability to acomplish and do almost everything.(warcraft)

2.a huge world were the whole game is ever changing.

3.total independency the ability to manipulate the way you play the game.(runescape)

4.the game is totaly realistic for instance instead of fake instant map travel there is instant teleportation spells for more realism.

5.the ability to change relationships with npcs like having a big conversation with them.

6.unlimited form of travel(no instant map travel)

that is all i know about things that can make a game addicting if you know anything else please submit your addiction quality.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
why gw is not addicting.

1.you do not have the ability to do anything because there is nothing to do outside of combat, lvling, farming, pwning, etc.

2.gw is not a huge ever changing world for example its not ever changing because everything stays the same old dull instanced place and you cant explore huge areas because you have to walk through a small narrow road full of annoying mobbs.

3.no independency you cant even create your own items or your own backdrop of a storyline through unique events you can make.

4.not really realistic with the bastard instancing load screens it makes you feel as if your playing a budget mmo instead of immersed in a huge world.

5.now in gw you really cant do anything with npc you cant even have a simple conversation with them you just click them add a quest follow the arrow kill some monsters go back to quest givers the quest are mostly all like that.

6.anet instead of giving us boring map traveling how about we unlock a spell which lets us teleport and another example is to make the whole game one area instead of it being seperated by towns, outpost, and everywhere else and the addition of mounts and flying freely in the sky for a limited amount of time.

if anet can implement these simple things gw2 will probably be extremely addicting to everybody btw if anet adds these things they wont be copying WoW this is very different from warcraft.
plus anet really needs to stop worrying about other games they need to stop worrying and stop saying things like this (no way lets not do that because we will copy warcraft)
it doesnt just make it your own and alter the content so it will be different from WoW.

Some of us play Guild Wars because it IS instanced. I enjoy being able to leave town with a group of H/H and not be bothered by a bunch of asshats camping my quest objective or lying in ambush, etc.

Oh...and map travel is fantastic. Mounts are dumb and only exist as a means of wasting players' time.

um, welcome to mmorpgs? Going places with mounts is no more a waste of time than doing uw runs.

Mounts are a means of traveling faster. We have instant map travel instead. UW runs are actually playing the game - fighting stuff, using spells, etc. You have to compare similar things - travel method A vs travel method B.

No game is going to ever be "realistic", because this is inherently an unrealistic genre. A realistic game would have you getting exhausted after 1 fight and having to rest for the next 4 hours or so. Oh, and instant teleportation spells are no more realistic than instant map travel.

No... one thing GW2 should do is to be more visually stunning, more engaging in combat and storyline, and allow for more customization options (more armor, more ways to dye it, etc).

I like the branching storyline that NF somewhat introduced, and it's a step in the right direction. The next step is to have our actions result in different outcomes, and possibly have some sort of global impact, (perhaps repeatedly killing a certain type of enemy reduces their population and another type of enemy takes their place).

I would also like to see some extentions on what we already have - have more in-zone merchants, and be able to pay them a small fee to deposit something into storage for you. A way to bring a piece of armor to a crafter and have him safely remove a rune or insignia w/o destroying the armor would be very much welcomed. *If* mounts were to be introduced, we must be able to fight while on them, and they must be balanced vs being on foot (maybe you move faster and can hit for a bit more damage, but you can't turn as quickly and you are more succeptible to being knocked down).

Hey guys, let's just rip off every other game in the market to make GW2, and completely ignore all the aspects that made GW1 stand out!

No, everything you said is pretty much exactly what WoW does. And I've actually played WoW.

Which, sarcasm aside, will probably happen.

The thing I personally like IN GW is map travel for one reason. I have played WOW and got on teamspeak and some friends were about to go on a big Epic raid and wanted me to come along. I was on the opposite side of the realm and basically took me a good 40 mins to get where they were. By that time they had already took off, which I could not blame them, and I was hard pressed to catch up alone. Same is true in City of Villains, Though at least in there they have Teleport ability for your buddies to your position, and from your base to the different areas of the game... But that takes some time to build and attain.

In GuildWars, that just does not happen.. the first thing I do is the exploration part of the game. I get all map points on at least 1 character and finish the game. My main character at least (normally takes a day or so non stop). So that if at ANY time any of my friends want to do something specific I can get to them within a few seconds. If you want to call them Asuran portals Fine, do so, but Please make map travel consistent. its the only way to assure you can still play with the people you enjoy playing with.

Pretty much came in to say exactly this. This looks like another thread about how to make GW2 into every MMO on the market (whereas GW1 isn't an MMO at all, which is why a lot of us play it). Sadly, I think Anet's listening. Without instancing, I really don't see buying GW2.

There will be instancing, that is something they have said will definitely remain. However, they are adding non-instanced zones. I would venture to say they are entirely optional, which is a great thing, IMO. So no worries.

Thank you, that will be all.
The OP wants WoW 2, we want GW 2.

I think the OP is just trolling here (actively asking for them to make an addicting game out of Guild Wars? I can hardly believe he is serious).

In response to his request for more grind and addiction, I would like to cast my middle finger in his general direction.

I'd like not being able to map travel, as long as you don't get attacked by every freaking mob on the map. It'd make role-playing so much more fun. I agree, the teleport system in RuneScape is still more fun than the instant map travel in Guild Wars. In RuneScape you have more the idea of you character living in a huge fantasy world, while in Guild Wars you just teleport from a mission to another mission to kill stuff.
It'd be nice to have things to do besides killing stuff (not leveling boring skills, though), more like different kind of mini-games or whatever.=P

Mounts, I'm not sure about, it could be fun for role-players. Like being able to raise your mount, and train it in mini-games or something to make it stronger or faster. And depending on the way you take care of it when it's young, it changes appearance when it evolves into a full-grown mount. I wouldn't mind grinding a bit for having more and better role-playing in the game, just one of the few things I really miss in Guild Wars.XD

Whether the game is addictive or not is a personal view, saying that GW is not addictive because you don't find it so is not necessarily true.

There is a sticky thread for GW:2 suggestions.
